BEST Logistics Group is seeking an Account Manager to join our exciting, GROWING Mission Critical Operations team in Kernersville, NC! Our Account Managers provide top-notch leadership to a team of drivers in a fast- paced environment while acting as a trusted, central point of contact for moving standard and oversized freight throughout the US. You will act as a key link between the business, our drivers, and our customers, playing an important part in day-to-day fleet operations.

In this critical role, you will be accountable for fielding calls and inquiries from drivers and working one-on-one to solve problems with creative solutions that exceed customer expectations and our company objectives.

This will be a day shift position (in office hours are 8am to 5pm, Mon-Fri), with night/weekend availability required as needed. This is a niche part of the industry where you’ll be managing Regional Flatbed, Heavy Haul, and Hot Shot drivers and liaising with a variety of different customers and carriers.

Position Overview

·         Make safety-conscious decisions while ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures

·         Balance the needs of our customers, our drivers, and the business resulting in a high degree of efficiency and effectiveness

·         Provide ongoing direction and leadership to drivers and internal associates to ensure excellent customer service, key factor achievement and associate development

·         Collaborate with others in the organization to identify and implement solutions to improve retention

·         Manage driver payroll, and ensure drivers have quality work/life balance; the Account Manager makes all the difference in the day-to-day work experience for our drivers!

·         Maintain continuous communication with customers to ensure a high-quality freight movement process

·         Schedule pickup and delivery while strategically dispatching drivers and optimizing routes while factoring in key factors such as distance, traffic, delivery schedules, etc.

·         Ensure accurate, detailed completion of documentation for all loads, including BOL’s, receipts, and other relevant paperwork

·         Other duties as assigned by Director of Fleet Operations

Job requirements

Ideal Candidates Will

·         Have at least two (2) years of experience with heavy haul / over dimensional freight.

·         Knowledge of McLeod TMS software highly preferrable

·         Be known for their ability to empower and mentor drivers, to be proactive and results driven, to creatively problem solve, and thrive in a dynamic, ever-changing environment

·         Understanding of state permit guidelines and escort requirements

·         Knowledge of different equipment types used for flatbed & heavy haul trucking

·         Brokerage experience a PLUS

·         Strong communication and organizational skills.

·         Keen understanding of FMCSA and DOT Regulations
